Terms of Service

Last updated: October 5, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Mybrary ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Mybrary is a personal library application that lets you keep track of books, films, music, websites, and other titles, rate and review them, and share lists of titles. Mybrary does not host or distribute the works themselves, only information about them. The Service is provided free of charge.

3. Account Registration

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. If you are 16 or 17, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The Service is not available to anyone under 16. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

To use the Service, you must create an account using an email address and password, or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create on Mybrary, including reviews, ratings, tags, and lists ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant Mybrary a limited license to store, display, and transmit your User Content solely to operate and provide the Service.

You are responsible for your User Content and agree not to post content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.

5. Sharing Features

The Service allows you to generate shareable links for items and lists. When you share content, it becomes publicly accessible to anyone with the link. You are responsible for any content you choose to share.

6. Copyright

Mybrary is built for keeping track of and talking about works, not for distributing them. You are welcome to share lists, ratings and reviews, and to mention titles, authors, directors, artists and other information about a work. Short quotations in a review are fine, as long as they serve your commentary and name their source.

You may not use the Service to share copyrighted material without the rights holder's permission. This includes:

We may remove content that we believe infringes someone's rights, and repeated infringement may lead to account termination under section 9. If you believe content on Mybrary infringes your copyright, contact us at [email protected] with a link to the content and a description of the work, and we will review it promptly.

7. Third-Party Services

Mybrary integrates with third-party services to provide content metadata:

These services are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. Mybrary is not responsible for the accuracy or availability of third-party content.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

We may remove content that breaks these rules without notice, and violations may lead to account termination under section 9.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your User Content may be permanently deleted.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mybrary and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sweden.

14. Contact
